Fried Chicken move over: Oven Baked Almond Chicken

I believe a recent post served to misrepresent who I am. That is to say, a deep fryer. I do come from a long line of fried food lovers, but my recent foray into fried chicken was perhaps only the second frying incident I can remember since I reached the age of majority. (Yes, I was a child fryer; in my middle school years I helped my mom make pooris.)

Today, we had guests over for lunch, so I decided to test my fried chicken recipe in the oven. Apparently, helping my family into heart disease is one thing, but company is another. This recipe is basically a step up from the 70s housewife recipe, Corn Flake Chicken, so it was not surprising that it worked. What was surprising was the fact that the oven baked chicken was much tastier than the fried chicken. Forget the cleaning and artery clogging, go with oven baked.

Hi ...Oven baking is any day healthier and the tastes really dont change much, right.. Its still tasty but in India people still think frying is a better option :(
Like the idea of your watercress pakodas.. See I like the fried stuff too :))

Love oven baking! Once you get used to it, at least I found, it's difficult to imagine going back to heavy greasy foods, don't you think? The chicken looks fantastic, by the way!

Ohhh, oven baked chicken with almonds - what's not to love! I love the idea of baking instead of frying.

Could be a good way to use up my surplus of almonds. Don't ask.

I love the step up from cornflake chicken nostalgia (and what memories those are!!)

I hear you on the deep-frying. I'm only too glad to have come to my senses early upon exiting the nest and haul out the jug-o'-oil on occasion.
