Daring to Bake but No Time

Apricot Ginger Brioche

While I really wanted to do the challenge and planned to make a sweet (raspberries and cream) and savory (malaysian curry chicken) braid, family problems kept me out of the game. But, i still have it on my plans for the holiday weekend, by which point every person who reads food blogs will be fed up by braids. Alas.

Anyway, instead, I will post some apricot, ginger brioche with ginger spiced chai. Not quite as sweet, but maybe with braids in your head, you might like a diversion.

For at least 999 braids, go to the Daring Baker Blogroll.

Too bad about your braids. I hope you get to try them soon. Your brioche rolls look heavenly. I would love to try them sometime. Sorry about Aunt M.

I for one, can't wait to see what you do with the Malaysian Curry braids. Even 999 others won't keep me away from checking those out...

I'm sorry to hear about your loss :(. I still look forward to seeing your braid this coming weekend, the ingredient combo sounds tasty :D.

BTW, this brioche recipe sounds so heavenly! I could so go for one of these right now. Yummmy! I've yet to make brioche, do you have any great simple brioche recipes you can pass my way?! :)

A savory version sounds very intriguing! I hope if you make it you'll post about it... also, is that crystallized ginger on top of the brioches?

Yum brioche! Quite a nice substitute for Danish Braid.

Good luck with your family issues. Hope you have time to make the braids another time. The recipe was fantastic!

Sorry to hear about your aunt!

The brioche looks lovely, but I hope you get round to making the danishes as well, as the curry one sounds quite interesting.

Looking forward to hearing about the chai. I'm a tea, spice and ginger fan but I've never tried making my own chai!

thanks for all your comments and condolences. we are just getting back to life here.

As for the brioche, i suggest that you use the Wild Yeast recipe. I have used many different ones and I really like that one.

And, yes that is candied ginger in the bread. It was delicious.

Finally, if you have those brioche pans, use them for cupcakes, madeleines, if they are the large ones baked bread pudding (if it is not super moist), muffins.
